I'm looking at replacing the IC chips, again, on a Hitachi 57F500A. It originally came with IC chip # STK392-150. I bought a new set of Sanyo STK-394-160's and installed them. The TV was having convergence problems but I was getting Video and Sound. After replacing the old IC's with the new 160's, I get no video nor sound. When I turn the TV on, the red Power light on front panel goes on but no video nor sound. All connectors are on correctly as I've triple checked them, and all of the board jumpers are connected correctly. After an extensive lookover I'm reverting back to the original 150's.
Original problem:
TV had convergance problem. Typical reds, blues, green did not align. So, I was getting video and audio. Tried the on-screeen convergence tool to no avail.
1st troubleshooting Solution
Researched online and found that I can replace the STK392-150's for the upgrade STK-394-160 supposed to run cooler. Pulled the board, checked the resistors (none were discolored or bulged) and replaced new IC chips (160's). Put everything back together, powered the tv and red light turns on but no video or audio. Checked and tripple checked all of connectors and everything was in place. Also checked the all soldering points of the IC chips for cold solder, and these are fine as well.
So, I figured that the only thing different from the time I was getting video and sound to not getting anything was the change of IC chips, which were not a direct Part # replacement, but what I'd read was an upgrade.
My only other option was to pull the 160's and replace with 150 (original).
I'm also checking the PS Pico fuses when I get home tonight to see if one of them are blown. Where are these located on the board? I'm assuming they're identified on the board beginning with the letter "F".
Thanks very much in advance.
