I have asked for help before in repairing myself my Mitsubhishi WD62525 TV. I bought a service manual and tried to troubleshoot my TV. It has a blue screen with snowy white cloud in the middle. I read on some forums here that one cause of this problem are bad capacitors on the power ckt. board. So I tried doing it myself, When I got to the chassis, I was stucked and never get into the power board. So finally, I've asked a service tech to come over. Initial diagnostic charge is $95, So the tech guy told me that there 6 bad caps that need to be replaced on the poer board. So I was right to begin with. Now here comes the bad news for me, when I asked the tech how much to repairing my TV. He told me $900 and he needs to take the TV and bring it to his shop. It will take 2 to 3 weeks to repair my TV. Is this right what I'm hearing? So I've questioned the tech guy why is $900 to replaced 6 bad caps (cost maybe $2 to $5 each). Then he mentioned how about the DM module? Then I realized what is the connection between the bad caps and the DM module? Am I hearing it right? My beef is that a fair charge or am I getting fooled because I don't know what I am talking about? Please make your comments anyone who are service tech or had experience with a service tech.
Too high my friend, the initial in home est a bit steep hopefully it was going to go into the cost of repairs. However i would be looking at a 500-700 range
"in home repair" there are people that do in home service, this is a common mit. fault, if the caps do repair the set then, tech will go part order for dm board, and should not take 3 wks but at least you will know what is going on.
Tv shops need your buss. Find a good honest shop and stick whith them you and they will be happy.
