I have a Sony KP57WS500 rear projecton tv and I would like to clean it properly. I have used a co2 can of dust off to blow off as much dust as I can but I dont know what I can use safely to clean the bulbs and the back of the screen.
I got the tv from a co-worker and I had to replace the IC's and some other fuses but the TV had allot of dust in it. Common I suspect.
Thanks.
If you can see the tubes from behind the set you can use a soft cloth or a cotton tee shirt . Dampen the cloth and wipe the tubes gently not pressing hard as some lens are plastic and can scratch and using the dry side for clean up . With the TV unplugged you can also use a vaccume with a dettachment hose and a small unused paint brush to clean out your set rather than a can of blowout . This tends to blow the dust everywhere . Use the brush gently as not to move parts around. Be careful around the picture tubes as they have purity rings that if moved will change your geomentry setinngs of the colors . James
