Trying to get this TV for free. The guy said it is a 51" widescreen Hitachi HDTV Projection- 6 years old, has an error code 5. He claims it needs convergence or resistors fixed. He must have got that from the error code 5. Can anyone direct me where I can find that info. I will do some searching so I may find my own answers. Thank you to all who help,

You need to get a description of the problem that he experienced before the problem or during the problem. If it was the convergence, he would have noticed separation of the colors, like a 3-D screen without the glasses. He may have also noticed a bow in the sides or top and bottom of the screen. This is a hard failure and would need to be repaired by a technician unless you are adept at dewicking and soldering.
