I have a local guy throwing away a KP-57HW40 with a broken contrast screen.
I have the KP57WS500 which the red and green guns have been on the fritz a bit lately, and its one of those momentary things that makes troubleshooting hard. Was wondering if it would be worth it or not to go get this guys KP-57HW40 to hold on to it for parts, I figure at least some of the stuff has to be partable out of it, like the high voltage adjustment block on front and maybe the guns?
Or more importantly, I wondered if my contrast screen would go into his set, even if it would he said when he turns the set on it goes green then goes into standby mode. Sounds like he knocked his green crt loose or something when it fell and broke his contrast screen.
Anyway I guess my baseline question is , is the KP-57HW40 interchangable at all with my KP57WS500 and is it worth getting it for parts?

For free? Sure.
Both appear to be ra6 chassis, manuals for both are in the resources download section on this site, if you want to compare parts.
