convergence replacement..HELP

Hi, Im pretty new to this but my Panasonic pt-56wx33g is having major problems so I read around in here and decided that I needed new convergence ic's. So after ordering them and picking up a decent soldering gun, I started taking the board out to TRY to repair it and I cant even get the power wire off. I am sure that is what the wire is and it doesn't seem to plug in. do I cut it and splice it when I'm done? I'm lost someone please help. I know the real answer but cant afford to have it done by a pro.

thanks

Are you refering to the large

Are you refering to the large red wire coming from the top of the flyback running to the HV splitter that has the three HV leads for the three CRTs? If so unhook the large red wire from where it enters the HV splitter, slide the rubber boot back then pull the wire from the splitter its hard but it will pull out. Do not cut it then resplice as alot of voltage travels through that wire. The little wire unplugs from the other end at the focus block.

You Do not need to remove the

You Do not need to remove the Main Board (A Board) Just the Convergence Board (DC Board) its in front of the main board with 2 big alum Heat sinks Take the Front bottom Cover OFF TV and its easy to get at from the Front of the TV .
