My Mitsubishi VS-50502 projection television has no picture.
The green "on" LED and sound does come on. The tv was working for a while, then after about 1/2 hour it would shut off. I assumed it was possibly a thermal problem and I removed the backing for the chassis and placed a box-fan to cool off the components. This seemed to work. I was able to watch the tv for hours. Now even in an air-conditioned room with the fan on it won't turn on. It did turn on for a few seconds after I repeatedly pressed the "on" button on the remote, but this only happened once.
Any suggestions? I assume I am going to remove at least the high-voltage circuit board and look for bad solder joints, etc. I wonder if I should be looking for something else in addition.
I have had training as a computer technician.
In addition, Does anyone have a service manual for this model that they would be willing to send me?
My user manual lists models VS-45501, 45502, 50501, 50502. I don't know if the service manual will cover all the models as the user manual does.
