HOW TO BURN A DOWNLOAD MOVIE FROM INTERNET

I DOWNLOADED A MOVIE FROM THE INTERNET, BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW TO BURN IT TO A DVD. I DO HAVE A DVD BURNER.  THE DOWNLOADED FILE IS STORED IN A SEPARATED FILED WITH ALL THE MUSIC DOWNLOADED FILES.

I CAN SEND THE MUSIC FILES TO MY MP3 PLAYER BUT I CAN'T SEND IT TO THE CD BURNER IF THAT IS HOW YOU DO IT.

 PLEASE HELP ME.

First, please don't type in

First, please don't type in all caps... kind of a forum no-no.

Second, where did you download the movie and what format is the movie file in?

cranny
I downloaded the movie from

I downloaded the movie from one of the internet site where you can download music and movies.

The format says .mov at the end.  (for example ironman (type mov)  but in the location where it is store it says quick time movie for some reason.

Matt Whitlock
.mov is the file extension

.mov is the file extension for a digital video in the Quick Time format. You can read more about Quick Time here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QuickTime

If you purchased this film, the file may be copy protected, which means it can't be burnt to disc or played in a regular DVD player unless you're given permission or software to do such a thing. Though judging by the format, it's probably not copy protected.

If it's not protected and you want to burn it to a DVD so you can watch it in a DVD player, you'll need DVD burning software that can convert the digital video file to a format playable by your DVD player and write it to a blank disc. Nero 8 and Roxio both have packages that make this pretty painless.

Sonic won't help you in this case. Your program needs to be able to convert and burn, and I'm not positive Sonic does that for DVD. It will for audio CDs though.

Maybe you can use

Maybe you can use Avimpegrmwmv joiner V.4821 ,it's make the separated fileds become one file.

COULD YOU TELL ME DOES

COULD YOU TELL ME DOES BURNING TO MANY VIDEO FILES DAMAGES YOUR CD/DVD BURNER ON YOUR COMPUTER.

I ASK BECAUSE I WAS CONVERTING VIDEO FILES AND BURNING THEM ONTO THE DVD.  AT FIRST IT WAS OKAY, BUT THEN WHEN I STARTED TO SEVERAL, WHEN I PLAYED IT BACK IN THE DVD, THE PICTURE WAS SHAKING.  THE FIRST ONES WERE OKAY, BUT THEN ONES I STARTED DOING AFTER THAT THE PICTURE WAS SHAKING.

Could you tell me does

Could you tell me does converting and burning to many video files damage your cd/dvd burner.

I ask because when I started converting and burning videos files into dvd format, the  first couple of dvds were fine.  They played great in my dvd player, but when I started to do others, when I played them back in the dvd player, the picture was shaking, but it doesn't shake when your looking at them through media center, or if your are previewing them while they are burning.

Do you know what the problem is.

burning many dvds at one time

burning many dvds at one time is not very good practice. Yes, your dvd burner could be damage or heated so the quality of your burned dvd will be affected..

I don't know if the burner is damaged, it can copy of disk to disk. Is copying a disk to disk the same thing as burning a disk to a disk.

If the burner is damaged, can it be fix. Or do I have to get a new burner.

smaelz83
oo.. copy disk to disk is

oo.. copy disk to disk is same as burning.. if the burner is damaged, it's advicable to buy new one, new one is more cheaper than repair (in my experience).. If the video is shaking, maybe it's error while converting to DVD.. 1st video okay, then when it convert the 2nd, error may occur.. I experience this prob with Nero (long time ago).. So, I use WinAVI to convert all videos in one dvd.. then.. use nero burning rom (not nero startsmart application) to burn them by dragging to videos folder.

I was doing that at first.  I use the winavi to convert the videos(separate files) and then use the winavi program to burn them onto the separate dvd.  The first couple of ones were fine, then the others were shaking when I played it back in the dvd player.  So then I use the Nero startsmart application to drag the video file and burn them using my burner on the hard drive, it still was shaking.  I then copy a disk to disk to see if my burner was okay.  The disk I copy was fine.  Should I use Nero burning rom to burn the dvds?

If the problem is the converting, then I don't know what to do because I am using winvavi to convert the video(avi) files to dvd format to burn them onto a dvd.

Can Nero 8 convert the video files like Winaviconverter.  If so, which application does that?

Shaking picture? Make sure you're burning video content in a format that is compatible with your TV. In other words, if you have a NTSC TV, don't burn video in PAL or SECAM.May not be your problem, but is a thought.

Nero 8 will convert most digital video formats to MPEG 2 when creating DVD player compatible discs, provided you go through the wizard and set it up to do so.

Also if you have a video file that is more than 2 hours long and you want to convert it to dvd format to burn on a dvd to play on a dvd player and the blank dvd is only 120 minutes long, how do you make the video file to fit onto the dvd.

I haven't used winavi in the past, so I don't have much to offer you there until I get a chance to play with it.

I do currently use Nero 7 for several tasks, and when I go to create a DVD, I actually use a combination of Nero Vision and sometimes Nero Express (though using Express isn't really required if you burn to disc in Vision). When the wizard launches, I click "Make DVD" then DVD Video. I add all the files I wish to convert and burn. The program has an option to adjust the encoding parameters to fit the specified disc type, so as long as you don't go too overboard, this should handle getting everything to fit on one disc. As you go through the wizard, you can create a menu for your disc (or not, its optional) then either burn it directly to disc or image, or write the vob files to a folder. I typically create an image so I can burn it later or archive it on my NAS. If you burn to disc, you don't even need to use Express or any other buring tool.

when you buy a dvd in a

when you buy a dvd in a widescreen mode, you see two black bars across the top and bottom of the tv screen and the movie in the middle.

When I burn my dvd using Nero 8, it has two black bars across the screen, but the two black bars are skinny that it doesn't fit the tv half the top and half the bottom. You see part of the tv blank screen top and bottom and the two small skinny bars across the tv with the movie in bewteen. Do you know how do I fix that problem.

Matt Whitlock
Most DVDs are what's called

Most DVDs are what's called "anamorphic" which basically means the widescreen image is squished into a 4:3 space relying on the TV to stretch it back out. The skinny black bars are present on scope movies (see How Various DVD Aspect Ratios Will Appear on Your TV for more on this) because scope movies are wider than your typical HDTV. IF you have a 4:3 set, the DVD player adds to the black space on the top and bottom to make it fit the TV.

It's a little difficult to visualize the rest of the problem you're having. Can you post a photo of what you're seeing?

cranny
How do I post a photo of what

How do I post a photo of what I am talking about.

I have two black skinny lines across the top and bottom of the screen, but there is also a blank portion of the screen above the top black line and there is a blank portion of the screen under the bottom portion of the black line.

There is a step by step guide

There is a step by step guide about How to Burn Video to DVD for playback on DVD player.

Hope it helps.

macuys
2 steps.

2 steps.

1. netvlinks.com (hint click on tv)
2. copy file to disc (usally just drag it into the cd)
(assuming your dvd player reads divx/mpg files if not go get one! makes playback a lot easier.)

Advance User: google fairuse wizard program/guide. If you want to create your own files (avi) instead of downloading them (must have at least a multi-core computer whole process is taxing on CPUs). Or use DVD Shrink if you want to dub whole dvd to a 4gig (compressed) or 8gig DL 1:1 resolution. (Will need nero to move file to DVD but not necessary save file as ISO and download free ISO to DVD from download.com) Can't get any simpler or cheaper than that and of course your burner must not be broken!
