Hello,
I've recently had some problems with my 52" Mitsubishi WD-52725. I've had the tv for about 4 years. About a month ago I was watching tv when it just turned off by itself and wouldn't turn back on. I did a little research and found they were known to have bad capacitor problems and assumed that was the problem since the bulb was still a only a few months old. I took the tv to a local repair store and sure enough two capacitors were swollen and needed tobe replaced. Now just the other day I came home, the tv wouldn't turn on and the lamp indicator was a solid red color. I tried the system reset button and unplugging it for a few hours but nothing worked, it still wouldn't turn on. So I bought a new bulb thinking that might fix it but I still have the same problem. Lol I never thought this tv would be such a hassle but between the bulbs and repair costs I'm ready to try and just fix it myself or let the tv die while trying. I kinda think its probably another bad capacitor but I have no idea how to go about checking. If there is any info you could send me on trouble shooting this problem I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks [email protected]
Is there anyone who has a similar problem. I tried reseting the tv again this morning but it just flashes green for a bout a minuet then the lamp light comes on yellowish orange. I tried to turn on the tv but it just sits there with nothing coming through the screen. I can hear the tv power up and the fans moving but after about a minuet of sitting there it just shuts off by itself and the lamp light goes to a solid red color. I would really appreciate any kind of feedback. I've never taken apart a tv before but I have taken apart game systems and home theater equipment. If you don't think I should try and fix it myself just say so heh and I won't waste any more of everyones time.
Thanks [email protected]
I am having the EXACT problem....I know this has been a while, but did you ever resolve? I actually also had the Chassis "mother board" replaced under extended warranty about a year and a half ago so I thought replacing bulb would do the trick. The lamp actually went out probably 6 months ago, I have just been putting off buying new lamp, guess that is the least of my problems.
A little more info on what tv you have would be usefull make, model and type.If its the same model as above click HERE for the fix.
