I have a KP-57WS510 TV which has a red color convergence problem. I am about to order 2 of convergence IC. Should I have to order STK392-570 instead of STK392-560?

Spiderman
Larry,

Larry,

Thank you for the reply.
Is there any advantage or reason to have STK392-570 than STK392-560 for my Sony KP-57WS510 TV?
I have downloaded a service manual, and it said the convergence chip on D board is STK392-560.
I look forward to hear from you.
Thank you again.

The STK392-560 is only rated

The STK392-560 is only rated at 5amps The STK392-570 is the same IC but its rated at 8amps which will run cooler and last 2-3 times longer MFG use the cheapest part they can to cut cost and Yes the STK392-560 will work Just Fine But will burn out much faster then the STK392-570 which does cost more Because its More Heavy Duty

Forgot to add mcminone.com

Forgot to add mcminone.com has them onsale for $15.69 But you must use Soure code # WR805 at checkout or when you call to get sale Price if not they are $19.95 reg price .

MFG only really care about

MFG only really care about there TVS lasting the First year So if the STK392-560 will last 2-3 years and saves them $4 per set over using the more expensive STK392-570 and they make 2 million sets a year thats a saving of $8 million dollars Thats why they Use the STK392-560 & not the more Heavy Duty longer lasting STK392-570 SO if your 560 has burned out why not spend the extra $4 Each for the Better STK392-570 that will last 2-3 times longer or out last the TV !

Here a picture of a Original Sanyo and A Generic  see how Both have a 5 number code    Lot of People think china made STK will only have a 4 number code  & the Sanyo will have 5  as you can see Thats not a good way to tell them apart  Look at the Lettering (STK392-120) on the Sanyo its stright with the mounting Holes  NOW look at the Generic the Lettering is BELOW the Mounting Holes Plus look how Nice and clear the lettering is on the Generic thats because its Painted on  which will rub off with acetone real easy .

Dwray and Larry, thank you

Dwray and Larry, thank you for the information.
Even though "Made in China" will work as original, I will order the original Sanyo ICs for safe side.
I have one more question that lots of people are mensioning to buy some pico fuses and convergence registers along with ICs in case of needs. I cannot find those items @ electronic-repair-kits.com. Does anyone have the url for those items?

Hey - Muchos Thankos Dwray!

Hey - Muchos Thankos Dwray! It was pico sites PS8001 and 2 that we're burnt. I had replaced the chips, and half of the problem had been fixed, i.e., the Red and Yellow - but the Blue was still bad. Those two pico fuses were bad. Thanks for naming the exact places to check - I had checked all of the resistors, and they were fine - but I hadn't checked the yellow Pico fuses carefully! There -should- be some way to rate your posts on this page so we can vote for the comments that were the most helpful....

It's funny - this is -such- a common problem, I would think that there would be people who would accept the old board and send you new or rebuilt ones!
