It sounds like you have a bad

It sounds like you have a bad convergence board. You will need to carefully open the set, locate the convergence board and disconnect the power plug. If the set comes on after that, you know the convergence IC's are bad on that board. a service manual is available for a free download here at techlore, in the resources tab. in the technicians corner. You will find it Here http://www.techlore.com/group/2/list_downloads Good Luck

Hi Larry , Thanks for the

Hi Larry , Thanks for the info but can you tell me where os located the convergence board and what does it do? I phone Samsung today and they told me that 9 blinks mean it's the power supply. Is it the fact that there is not enough power to get the TV runnuing? Like i said , when i push the power button it can hear a tick. Thanks

You can locate the

You can locate the convergence board in the service manual. If you cannot find it in the manual or do not understand the manual. I'm afraid this is not the repair for you to attempt.

similiar issue, however I unplugged the convergence board and still the set does not power. Previously I've done this and seen a non-converged image (red, green, and blue). Any additional tests I can do on this? Essentially power on sound, blinking red light...then it repowers on and repeat...no image.

ok. i have the same problem.

ok. i have the same problem. i was told by a couple techs that the red light means its in safe mode, but what they cant tell me without a service call. obviously this model (hcn4727w) has had the same damn problem constantly. so it should hopefully be somewhat obvious by now in the past 7 years.

i dl the manual and read it. it doesnt have any info that i can find on where the board is located. but i did google the part and found some pictures of a board which have the STK-040 on them. im guessing this must be it.
now if it is what of the many connection on it is the one you disconnect?
some sort of visual would really be helpful. even a pic with some Ms paint lines on it would be great.
