Good news and bad news.
The good: We followed the instructions found here to resolve the "blinking light of death" problem. Replacing the 4 capacitors was cheap, a friend did the soldering, and I saved $1000 in repairs.
Recently, I had Comcast replace the remote for the cable box (our 1 year old Collie chewed the end off of the old one), and we successfully connected the remote with the 3 devices we needed to: the TV, the audio receiver/amp, and the cable box.
All was well, until recently.
Now, the TV audio will suddenly increase the volume to maximum level - and will resist initial attempts to lower the volume. After a little while of forcing it down, it stays.
Has anyone experienced this problem, and do you have a recommended repair?
Thanks!
Jim
What button are you pressing to lower the volume? If it is the remote, take out the batteries and seeif that stops the volume from increasing. If it is the buttons on the TV set, maybe the volume switch is intermittant or is sticking. Check and be sure the switch feel the same as the channel buttons do.
