I have 12yr old Hit. Ultravision 50UX58. Never had a problem. Used now for games. Getting NO power from remote or 'power' button. I removed rear panel and removed power cord connector from circuit board to make sure getting power, which it is. When I put the connector back on the board 4-5 little green lights on the board came on the a slightly brighter one came a few seconds later and TV gave that 'crackle' sound like it was coming on then everything dimmed off slowly. Any ideas what problem might be and if it is worth the cost of getting fixed? Thanks in advance. Bill
The biggest problem with these sets is that after several years, the CRT(the picture tubes) leak coolant out onto the printed circuit boards. If you catch the leak soon enough, most likely you can repair the board that was leaked on. If not, the set is landfill I'm afraid, as the boards for this set are no longer available. Sometimes however, the convergence IC's can also cause this symptom. This is the board with a large fin looking heat sink with two Rectangle IC's mounted to it. These IC's start with STK. Good Luck
