KP-51WS500 is Dead ( Need Possible Faults )

KP-51WS500 is Dead ( Need Possible Faults causing this condition )

For KP-51WS500 or KP-57WS500 or KP-65WS500 or RA6 Chassis

Not getting any blinking codes or steady red light at all

I have tried searching for faults myself but no luck so far

The service manual says a dead condition may be caused by the G-Board

I checked the G-Board for bad solder conditions and found none

I checked the G-Board for bad fuses, diodes, transistors and resistors and found none

I checked the G-Board for the Stand-by voltage of 5 VDC at pin 1 of CN-5001 and its ok

I would appreciate any information you may have that could help me find the fault

I thank you in advance for your help

If you are getting no

If you are getting no blinking light, first thing you need to do is to go back to the G board. The Block diagram for the G board has all of the plug connections on the right side of it with the voltages you are suppose to have. If you are missing any of these, the G board is at fault. You can have the G board repaired at ptscorp.com. Just go to the website and get the telephone number and ask them how much. Most G boards cost about 50 to 75 bucks to be overhauled. Good Luck

Larry,

Larry,
Thanks for your reply

At present i have the G-Board removed from the tv set

Question -
- Can i made voltage tests without hooking it back up to the tv set ?

Thanks

No you cannot. You need the

No you cannot. You need the voltage from the set to activate the board, unless you have an AC cord handy. The voltages will most likely measure higher then normal. I would send the board out at this point to make sure everything was OK and that there were no modification notices from Sony.

Larry,

Larry,

Thanks again for your reply and advise.

I will hook-up the G-Board back into the tv set.

I will measure the voltages at all the CN connectors on the G-Board.

I will post my findings as soon as possible ,hopefully within 1 or 2 weeks.

Thanks
Kos
