You need to narrow down the

You need to narrow down the possibilities, do you have sound through other inputs?, Do you have sound through the tuner?. Test this and post back here and maybe we can get closer to your problem.

No picteure no sound through

No picteure no sound through any of the video inputs

Doesn't even give me an indication that another

video source is on.   I have direct TV - checked the

receiver on another TV - its OK -

No video through other inputs

No video through other inputs? Clarify this. Did you connect a dvd player and try this? This is important to know! Make sure you don't have a mute circuit turned on. or if the set has an external speaker switch in the back that may be flipped to external, i have seen this before. Before we crack the cabinet open, need to make sure it is not something external first.

I have Satellite TV connected

I have Satellite TV connected to Video Input 1  DVD connected to

Video input 2 -  There is no Video switch on the TV so have to

use the remote to switch.   I get no msg on screen -  none of

the function buttons bring up any menu - nothing.

Switched  the cable to other video input - nothing

funny that both sound and video are not working

if it was pic tube I should still have sound, shouldnt

I?

I re-read your orignal post,

I re-read your orignal post, and for some reason i thought you said you had a picture, and no sound. Sorry. My bad. Sometimes i read too quickly.

let's try this again from this angle. You have no video, no audio, no menu. Do you have a power light comming on ? do you have any light flasing a blink code ?

When I push power button , I

When I push power button , I get a blinking  green light and the fan comes on.  Shouldn't it go to solid green?    When I push it again blinking red light for a few seconds then

fan goes off.

what you have is a projection

what you have is a projection lcd television. i have not looked up the manual yet, but check for a lamp light and see if it is lit or flashing. If so you have a bad lamp. The lamp is user replaceable. If this does not work count the flashes, it should pause flash a few times then pause again. Count the flashes between the pauses, count them more than once so you can get an accurate number.

zapdbf
the number of flashes should

the number of flashes should be less than 10

Where is that lamp located?

Where is that lamp located?    I counted the flashes  When I turn it on it flashes

3long flashes  - then it begins a steady fast flashes  I counted 30 and still

flashing.

I think you are talkin about

I think you are talkin about the projector lamp that slides out of the

front panel?      I took it out and see pieces of glass inside the bulb

looks like its shot.  Would this also account for the no audio problem?

Where do you get replacement bulbs?

frodo
Is the lamp removeable from

Is the lamp removeable from the hosing or do you replace

the whole assembly?

zapdbf
Yes, if the lamp is broken

Yes, if the lamp is broken the tv will not start up and you will not get any audio. the housing the lamp is in gets replaced with the lamp. That is your problem just a blown bulb. Change the bulb all will be well. The bulb is expensive though, not sure how much but it will be in the $200 -300 range.

Good luck

Thanks a lot for your help - I have located one for $247 on the internet

You probably saved me a couple hundred dollars

zapdbf
expect to change the bulb

expect to change the bulb every 2 years. you  should be able to get the bulb at any local tv store. or try the www.partstore.com. The bulb housing should have the replacement number on it somewhere.
