Sony KP53HS30 suddenly goes blue.....in the middle of the SuperBowl no less

This TV had been a model citizen up until SuperBowl Sunday, when suddenly the entire picture turns very blue.  I've tried adjusting the colors in the menu to no avail.  I've googled this type of issue and have gotten many variations on what the cause may be and how to repair without and without calling a service person.  I've gotten as far as unscrewing the back of the TV to get a better idea of what I'll be dealing with and am now pretty sure that I should leave this to a qualified repair person.  I've been advised that this may be fixed with a minor adjustment with a screwdriver or it may cost me $600 to repair,  which is why I am trying to find someone who's had a similar issue.  Anyone?
