screen creep on sharp lc42 xd1e

hi, i hope someone can help me with the above condition. i bought the above tv just less than 12 months ago and recently noticed what i thought was 3 dirty finger marks on the bottom corner of the screen, on closer inspection i found that they where not finger marks but 3 lines going from the bottom of screen to a couple of inches from top. i phoned sharp who sent an engineer out and thats when he said it was screen creep, when i asked what that was he said it is when the 2 panels that join the screen together start to seperate and that it was not viable to repair, he then told me it would be replaced under warranty. has  any one else heard of this problem or is it a fault of the sharp model. ps the engineer said he had been to other sharp tvs with this fault which makes me worry when i get a new one. thanks for any help or advice. dylan.
