Hi, new to this forum and would love some help! We received a 26" Sharp Aquos LC-26D6U as a gift a little less than a year and a half ago. Less than a year after we received it, it developed two apparently separate problems. Most annoyingly, it spontaneously turns off, stays off for a few seconds, and then turns back on. Sometimes it will do this a bunch of times in a row, turning off every minute or even every 10 seconds or so. Sometimes it will be just fine for a week and then start up again.
When it turns off a bunch of times in a row (maybe 5-6), the yellow-greenish OPC/DL light will flash along with the blue power light. At that point it will no longer turn on on its own and we need to unplug it and plug it back in.
The other problem is that the volume control, on/off, and other controls, whether on the remote or on the TV, will stop working. We then unplug the TV, wait a few seconds, and plug it back in and that's fixed. This second issue is really not so bothersome, but I don't know if it's connected to the first one.
It's our fault that we did not deal with this when it was still under warranty; it wasn't as bad then (has since gotten worse) and we somehow kept thinking it would just get better. Anyway, now it's off warranty but still not all that old. Any idea what might be behind all this? Thanks so much for any advice.
Your main board is likely failing.
Too bad you didn't take care of this under the warranty.
