kp-61xer300 projection tv.Can any one tell me what the five red flashes (code) is for the tv flashes off and on so bad you can not watch it and it seems to be darker than usall,Im looking for troubling shoting ,priceing for parts and what parts do I need to fix this tv also how can I find out just how old this set really is,Any 411 would be a big help. I live in highland city florida and also need a repair tech if any one on here knows the lakeland florida area.Thanks!

I do not recognize that model number. If you mean a KP61XBR300, I do not have that model number but I do have a model that has the same chassis as the XBR300. The 5 red flashes mean you have a AKB detection fault. This could be caused from a bad picture tube or a bad CRT driver board, and your set has three each of them. I really doubt that all three are bad, but you would need to find an authorized Sony repair tech, who knows what they are doing and knows these sets to diagnose your problem. This is I'm afraid, not the repair job for the handy-person or novice. You can contact Sony HERE and find out who is the closest Sony repair center in your area.
