samsung HCN4226W/XAA Convergence Board Issues & Part #

Trying to clarify an issue with the correct part number for the convergence board. Part number on board is BP41-0045B. It also has the name Benhur on it. The manual gives BP95-00146C and SamsungParts.com responded with BP94-00155A. The board I have has two STK392-040 IC modules on it.  Two questions: One-  Any suggestion of the correct replacement board number. Two: The current STK modules are not Sanyo, which is recommended as the correct replacement - Are the Sanyo IC's labeled as such. One more: These STK's run very hot - is this normal ?

This TV sporadically shuts off or will not power-on. With the 20V to the convergence board, disconnected it always starts, so I am guessing this is the problem.  Everything else is normal.  Any suggestions.  Thanks !

Your convergence is so far

Your convergence is so far out of whack that it is shutting down the tv.  You need to replace both of the IC modules.  You can do it yourself for about 20 bucks if you can solder.

Thanks, but I replaced the entire board with a new one from Samsung and also replaced the Hybrid IC Regulator. Still no go. I am still suspicious about the convergence board and if it might have a bad IC on it. I am getting ready to order two new convergence ICs and swap out some of the regulators, but the dang schematic I got is almost worthless, as you cannot trace the wiring from one sheet to the other and none of the voltage origination points are shown. I am a retired copier tech, and I thought some of the manuals I had to deal with back then were bad, but this one...

Thanks again,  Jerry

I'm having the same problem with my Samsung.  Did you ever get it straightened out?  Thanks.

I ran up a tab on this thing

I ran up a tab on this thing and gave up. If it had a decent manual and if I had some test leads I could clip into this thing and get some voltage readings with it in operation, it would be helpful, but I sold all my stuff. From the problems I have read people are having with these models I threw in the towel. It is for sale on Craigs list now. I ran it on Ebay for $35 just to get it out of here with no takers -not even an email. In the last year I have developed a retinopathy and cant see crap anymore and don't need HDTV. I can't even see the 32" I have that well. Probably replacing the main board ($500) would fix it, but it ain't worth it. Samsung will not repair the board - they just refer me to a service dealer. The last tech that came here smoked the power supply and and aother board in the 1st set I had like this and Sears replaced the entire set.
