I have a 61" rear projection, about 8 yrs old. picyure was fading to white. Just cleaned it today. Still having a halo problem around faces & words. I guessing a convergence problem, but it wont fix the problem. Can anyone help. Thanks

the fluid will cause this problem, it is a prolific problem with Philips, although the extended warranty companies call this preventive maintenance and not a failure, so if you don't have a preventive maintenance contract warranty or extended warranty will not pay for this. the fluid is not that expensive but it does take allot of time to perform this service, Larry Dillion seems to have a procedure that is easy for the home user to follow to change the fluid, although i have never used his method it seems to work fine, i would recommend it. I am sure larry will comment on his procedure.
You can find the fluid change procedure HERE. Good Luck.
thanks I will try that soon & let you know. Also i keep reading about factory convergence isnt that in my menu screen or is it something total different that repair man only know
yes it is a back door for the serviceman to get into the micro, there is a special sequence of numbers you have to press on the tv remote to enter factory service mode. if you need to preform the factory service, you will need the orignal tv remote. i am not sure what tv this is (did not look it up) but the code is 062597 then press either menu or status buttons depending on the year/model. (some models are 062596 status)
