Hatachi ultravison

I am new to working on TV but I have worked on electronics before!!! I have a hatachi  projection screen and it has gotten real wavy it gets better the longer it is on but not great!! also when you try to watch a dvd it will start to roll ??? I have tryed replacing the cables and even other dvd players with no luck !!! what could it be and can I fix it myself ??? thanks mike
