Last week, all of a sudden our screen turned green. Nothing would fix it. Turned it off, a few days later as we were about to call a repair guy, my wife called me and said it was fine. Great, until the next day she told me the tv turned off by itself, then tried to turn back on (click sound, warm up sound for about 3 seconds, then click off again, repeated about 20 times).
She unplugged the set, I got home and the set ran good for about 1 hour, then started the same routine again. I unplugged the set and tried a different receptacle, still trying to turn on then gives up, repeat, etc...
Today I took the back off, no idea what I was looking for but just thought I'd take a look. Hoped to see a blown fuse, or a burnt cap or diode, ....nothing. I plugged tv in heard click, saw 3 lamps start to glow, then click off again....then click on, lamps glow (not bright - just barely warming up) then click off again.
TV repair guy we called yesterday said he was not a Samsung expert and didn't know of any in our area (Charlotte, NC). (Closest was probably 3 hours away)
Samsung website said to call them for service location...haven't done that yet.
Can anyone help me fix it or at least convince me to give up and replace it. Of course it is 6 months past it's warranty period.
Thanks.
