Need advice on Yamaha RX-V800

First, thanks for all the invalueable advice I received in the past from you guys. Here's my problem: until I can up grade to a receiver with HDMI inputs, my V800 can do for the time being. However, I'm having problems with input/output assignment. The manual says "You cannot select an item more than once for the same type of jack."  I seem to have lost the DVD optical input. My question...If I reset the rcvr to default factory setting will I be able to retreive the input? Thanks again.
