PS3 warranty

Hey, there

I bought the 20 gig ps3 when it came out for 500 dollars, I then bought the warranty for it. As you know, the  80 gig ps3 is 500 dollars now.  I got my warranty from best buy. the 20 gig ps3 is crap and i was wondering if any of you know how to get around it.

Well... there's no

Well... there's no unscrupulous way to get around it, if that's what you mean. I have to support following the rules, not putting fraudulent warranty claims.

Of course, there's not much difference between the 20 and 80 gig versions anyway... besides 60 extra gigs of space. What makes you say your 20 gig unit is crap?

well the key thing is i want it wireless and if i can pull it off then i can get a brand new one and have them transfer my data.

well the only claim i can

well the only claim i can make is that my ethernet plug-in, in the ps3 won't work.  my ethernet won't work. i have connected through the etheret cable from my router and it has worked before. i checked with my internet provider and checked the cable. i also had my cousin bring his over and it worked. is that enough to get me a new one, or will they just fix it?

I believe that the ethernet

I believe that the ethernet portion is a separate board, so it will most likely be replaced.  There could also be a software problem which would require only a software reset.  Either option is rather simple for a service center with the proper parts and test gear.

From the network viewpoint,

From the network viewpoint, you should also double check your network settings in the PS3 and on your router. Maybe you have static DHCP values set or other configuration problems.

If you bought extented

If you bought extented warranty at best buy then yes they will exchange yours for same model but I would make a fuss and try to get the 80 gig
