My 3 years old Sony projection TV just started to have convergence problem since 2 days ago.
I've been searching the related threads on the similar subject in this forum and I would be really appreciated if someone could send me a copy of the service manual so I can start to troubleshoot the problem.
My email is [email protected]
Thanks in advance,
Don

zapdbf,
Thanks for your reply. I've checked out the above thread and I've ordered the 2 STK ic last night. Actually, I've checked the 5 pico fuses (2 connected to each STK on the D broad and 1 on the G board) and I've re-soldered both STK ic chips last night but the problem still persists (the Green color forms a arch on the left top and across the bottom of the screen)
And that's why I thought it would be helpful to have the schematic diagram to help trace the problem in case the new STK ic do not help resolve the problem.

there are 2 yellow (pico) fuses on the "G" board don't replace the fuses and then try to turn on the tv again without the new convergence ic's or you will blow the pico fuses again, there is really very little troubleshooting to this because the only thing in the circuit is a few voltage divider resistors and the two stk ics, and the convergence yokes, and fuses, the control circuitry is call the "DCU" and it is completely digital, and never in my experience has been at fault for this problem. there are a couple of mute transistors but i have only seen one time where they have caused any trouble.

will probably have the manual for a fee, but the contract i have with sony will not allow me to distribute this information.
Thanks for the info, let me double check the pico fuses on the G board after I've replaced the stk ics.

I replaced 1 STK ic, after that, did a manual convergence adjustment on the still trouble areas and it is now looksing as goog as new! Thanks zapdbf for posting all the useful repair info. Without that, I'd have no idea on where to start.
Thanks again,
-Don
