I noticed one day, when I turned on my television, that the picture was green. I tried adjusting the picture, color, brightness, and sharpness, but the results would mostly be the same. When I adjusted the hue to the center, the picture becomes green. The picture on my tv is not normal with color. Its either green or blue. When I opened the back cover of my tv, I opened the tv and found out there was only green and blue light being projected. There is no red light. Can I repair this myself? How much will the repair cost? This is a Sony KP-57HW40. I need help. Thank you.
Depends on what is causing your problem with the red; there is more than one answer to this. There is no magic bullet. Switch the red and green neck modules around to see if the problem follows the tube or the board. if the green stops working and the red begins to work, then your trouble is most likely in the neck module although it could be on the “A” board as well. Possibly the video driver on the neck module, this driver has a history of failing. But perform that test first. To make sure the tube is good.
Today, I found out that when I press Flash Focus, the red light starts to be projected. After Flash Focus end, the red light dissapears. I also found out that when I adjust the tv to black/white, the red light starts being projected. Once I add color to the picture, the red light dissapears. I am not experienced with television, so I don't understand the function of each componenet. Can you elaborate on this, zapdbf or any one else? Thank you for your help.
