no, i mean can you take a picture of the tv screen and post it. so i can see what you are talking about.
OK. sorry I'll get you a picture in about hour or so need to down load from camera and need to leave for awhile I will be back
That is a DLP television, i looked it up. your model is wrong it is a HLP4663W anyway, from what you are describing, and what i am seeing it looks like you have a light engine problem, i don't see many of these at our shop, but i hope it is in warranty. because it will cost more than the set was new to fix. The black dots are also a sign of the engine failure. I would have a tech to take a look at it. It is difficult to say for sure without being in front of the tv, but i am fairly confident the light engine is your problem.
thanks I will have some one look at it, no it isn't under warranty it ran out of course but thanks anyway.

can you tell me where the light engine is i have sent an email to elctronics shop in Tulsa OK. can it be tested with out the set? is the engine under the lamp?
the lamp is inside or next to the engine. It is fairly large, and it cannot be tested outside the unit unless the shop has that exact same model television. It has the lens connected to it that projects the picture. Don't try to dis assemble the engine. they are assembled in a clean room. any dust in the engine will cause you fits. It cannot be repaired by a standard tv shop, they either need to be sent back to the manufacturer, or if pts will work on them send it to them. It takes very specilized equipment to repair a light engine including a clean room.
