HELP LCD TV problems

Can anyone out there please hlep me.  I recently purchased a media center PC which for the most part works great, I hooked up my dish to it but for some reason when viewing TV on it it will not disply wide screen there are large black spaces down each side.... prior to hooking up the dish i just had it connected to antenna, and it was fine and would show wide screen... any ideas?
