Older Rear Projection- Zenith

Good afternoon,

I am new to this site and I have an early 1990's Rear Projection Zenith Big Screen.  I haven't used it in a few years because of its condition, but now I am ready to get back at it.  My issue is that unless all the lights are out the screen is almost impossible to see.  All the colors work great its just acts as if there is not enough strength.  I have adjusted all the settings and it reacts the same unless its dark.   I was just curious if anybody knew of a quick/easy/relatively cheap fix out there or that I could at least give a try.  It's a shame to have this sitting around for nothing.

Thank you for your efforts,

sounds like just plain old

sounds like just plain old worn tubes. you can try to adjust the screen voltages but if you go too high it will get washed out. also cleaning the mirror and screen and tube surfaces can give you a boost in brightness.

Alright thank you.... How would you go about adjusting the screen voltages?
