Hi,
I have Sony HID KP-51WS500, and I love it. Today morning when i turned it on, picture suddenly bagged in to center of screen, and all three projector colors are sepratley displaying on the screen. Blue, Green, Red.
So far I have read this is called 'Covergence Problem' Please would any one give me some detail on this, as far as, where to look for Ic's and where they located. Is there any blue print that I can obtain from some where?
Thanks a lot people,
Ali
it does sound like you have that problem, as mentioned in other posts it is an involved repair. the ic's you are looking for are located on an aluminum heat sink, the numbers on the ic will be stk392-??? with the ??? representing the wattage type. both need replaced, and as people have mentioned before a small pico fuse normally yellow in color will blow, and need to be replaced, there are 4 of them to check, you need a dvm to tell which ones have blown. Personally i have found on the sony's in general replacing the ic's then the failed pico fuses - then some small convergence touch up generally will fix this set.
you need to be comfortable with soldering and de-soldering.
