Apex Digital Flat Screen

My tv keeps blowing fuses. I'm just watching it one day and then Pop! it goes out and won't turn back on. I tried replacing the fuse and as soon as I plugged the tv back in Pop! it goes out again. I'll be looking to get it repaired but would like to have some idea of what's wrong with it before I start spending money. There was no power surge at the time (and it was plugged into a surge protector)and  the house circuit breaker wasn't tripped. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions please let me know.

Thanks!

Depending on the model number

Depending on the model number of the TV set, you most likely have a short in the SMPS. This is the power supply of the set. The fact that it blows as soon as you plug in the TV set is an indication that there is a shorted bridge rectifier, bad filter capacitor or perhaps a regulator issue with the switch mode power supply. If you do not have the solid state troubleshooting skill, play it safe and take the unit to a repair shop to get assistance with this TV set. Good Luck

So still yet what model and

So still yet what model and type of Apex? You really need to be a little more specific when asking for help. If you see the first question it says it blows the fuse as soon as you plug the set into the wall. You said you had the same problem. Now what, can you be a little bit more descriptive please?

Sorry about that , it is a

Sorry about that , it is a APEX digital ctr style tv. Model # PF2025.

My problem is that when you power it on with the power switch, it blows the fuse.

That model of TV set is an

That model of TV set is an older type of analog TV set. Your problem is probably in the main power supply, or perhaps the sweep power supply. Without a service manual and the know how to trouble shoot solid state electronics, your best bet would be to play it safe and have a pro have a look at it. Probably at this point you would be better off to look into a digital tuner set as this set will not work on over the air reception next year. Good Luck
