I see there are lots of converence problems with the sony kp57hw40. Larry Dillon seems to be helping a lot of people with this problem, but there does not seem to be any feed back on how the problem worked out. Could anyone send me a copy of the service manaul please?
Thanks

Sure there is lots of feedback on the convergence repairs. Most people do replace the IC's but are not techie enough to know how to trouble shoot the other components that go bad at the same time that the IC's go out such as circuit protectors, resistors and even burnt traces on the boards. Some people are lucky though, as they replace the IC's and the set takes off just fine. How lucky do you feel. it is not really a very hard job to do. Just get the right IC's is have the battle and do not buy those cheaper ones that are factory seconds or cheap aftermarket convergence IC's. Use only original Sanyo IC's with the Sanyo name printed right on them. those IC's you get for less then 10 bucks are MOST of the time the cheapo ones. Also before installing the new IC's into place, do not forget to apply a nice coating of heat sink compound on the backs of the new IC's. I have seen this not being done, and you have premature failure of the convergence IC's. You could simply take out the convergence board and send it to the board overhaul place, ptscorp.com. They are pretty reliable for these repairs. Good Luck and I will send you a service manual.
