I have a Hitachi 50VG825 that's a year and a half old. Turned on the set today with the remote and the only buttons that operate the tv are the power and volume buttons. Same goes for the buttons on the panel. I can't change the channel, inputs or even access the menu screen.
Can someone help me please.
I just have the same problem on this TV and do not know what to do with it. Have you solved your problem?
I unplugged the Television overnight. The next morning I turned it back on and it continued to show the TV Guide on the screen and then it would shut off without touching the remote. My wife just used the scroll wheels for the volume and channel and it started to work again as normal.I did change the batteries in the remote but this didn't seem to do anything. Please try using the scroll wheels on the remote and see if this corrects the problem.
