JVC power problem??

I have a 60 inch big screen JVC TV model# AV-60D502 that I purchased new about 4 years ago. About a year ago it just cut off like you had turned it off. When I tried to turn it on the green light at the power switch would come on then immediatly go right back off. I figured it was dead for good. About 30 minutes later I tried it again and it came back on and played good until about 3 months ago. As before when it kicks off it will come back on in about 30 minutes. Now it is doing this very regular. Sometimes it may be a hour before it will turn back on. Sometimes when it is getting ready to kick off the picture will flicker. When I try to turn it on it makes a clicking noise, the green light comes on and then it immediatly goes back off. I took the back off yesterday to inspect it. It was terribly dusty which I vacumed out. I found 4 seperate fuses which I checked and they all looked good. I looked all over the board starting where the power cable goes in looking for something that appeared to have been hot (brown looking). I did not see anything. Can anyone give me any ideas? I found this site through a search engine and it appears other people have had similar problems with JVC's. One of the blog's mentioned the power supply. Where is this located? Sometimes when you turn the tv on it may play 2 or 3 hours then there are times it will not play 5 minutes without turning itself off. Could dust be contributing to this? I would greatly appreciate any help someone may give me.

                                   Thanks, Randy

No I doubt if dust is doing

No I doubt if dust is doing this. It sounds like you have a bad solder connection somewhere in the set. This could be a difficult thing to find sometimes. You really should not attempt to repair this unless you know about printed circuit boards and the way the circuits work.  At this point, if the set does have a bad connection inside, it should not be an expensive repair. But the longer you let the set keep doing this, the more of a problem this will cause to the rest of the set. Good Luck, and keep us informed about the repair of this TV set.

Yep, unfortunately, your

Yep, unfortunately, your picture tube sounds like it is bad. The replacement cost for a picture tube would well exceed the cost of a new TV set. Sorry for the bad news.
