I have this model Panasonic (25") that I bought in 2001. It now works fine for 15 minutes +/- 2 min. before it completely looses picture & sound. You can shut it off after a couple of minute & then it will restart & run for a few more minutes before it shuts off again. Or, if you don't shut it off, it will restart by itself in 15-20 min.
Anyone have any ideas on fixing this problem.
For those who do not know it, this is a combo TV set. This problem could be a simple regulator IC, that's breaking down, or I have also seen the power supply capacitors cause this trouble. The best way to trouble shoot this TV set would be to monitor the B+ on the output leg of the regulator IC and see if the voltage starts to swing high just before the set shuts down. I have also seen problems like this that will not happen with the back off the TV set. I have had to solder a lead onto the regulator and close the cover or cover the set with a blanket partially. As I always stress, if you have no solid state repair experience, especially with TV sets, play it safe and take the set into a trained repair person to have the set looked at. Good Luck, and keep us informed of the repair progress on this TV.
