I need help-please

I have just recently received a 2nd generation shuffle mp3 player.I downloaded some music and it worked great that night. The second morning...the light keeps flashing and it won't play any music. I plugged it into the computer to charge it and  still nothing. I am getting quite frustrated. I need direction and help..please and thank you:)
