I have had my Panasonic NV-HV61EB VCR for 2 years and works perfectly when I record and playback recent recordings but when I try and play Pre Recorded tapes or tapes I made myself some time ago I get terrible tracking problems with horizontal lines and distortion making it impossible to watch.
I had similar problems before replacing my previous Panasonic.
Can anyone suggest a remedy?
I had intended to get a DVD recorder this year and transfer all Video to DVD.
The guide post assemblies have moved and are no longer within the manufacturer's standard tolerance. While this is easy to fix, you will have a problem in that the newly recorded tapes are now also out of tolerance."Fixing" the unit will allow you to view the old tapes, but you may have a problem with the new ones.
Keep us posted,
Dan
Thanks Dan,
When you say easy to fix I also assume it would not be too expensive?
I am not too bothered about recent tapes as they are only films which seem to be pepeated several times each week!
I would like to get all my holiday video onto DVD then do away with the VCR.
Thanks again,
Brian
