Lyra X3000

I have a Lyra X3000 and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong with it.  I have hooked it up, in what I think is the right way, trying to record a DVD from my DVD player and everytime I push record and follow the instructions it keeps telling me not found or something like that.  How do I hook it up to record DVD's onto it?  If anyone can help me out I would appreciate it.
