Please help me. My 42 inch sony will shut off and then turn right back on. I'm not sure if its still under warranty but I don't thinkl I've had if for a year yet. It used to be every once in a while but now its getting more common.

This is sometimes caused by a bad lamp.
The picture on my Sony KDF42A10 is not a bright as it should be. I've adjusted the controls available to me via the remote hand unit, but it is still
to dark. I suspect that I need a new bulb.
The set, a Sony KDF42A10, is about 5 years old and I have been thinking about buying a new one but if the problem is just a bulb, then I will get one, but on the oher hand I don't want to put that amount of money into it only to find out that is not the problem or possibly I may have additional problems.
Any suggestions?
