I have a pre-hdmi hd pjtv hitachi 52 in . is there a dvd player that will output 720p/1080i from the component output? or, is there a upconverting adapter out there? thanks, a.t.
I search for this many times and no luck i only find one.
It wash a Onky DV-SP1000 BUT THE PRICE WASH AROUND $2,000 so i dont take a good look enter the onkyo site and download the manual and see if he work for you ;)
Nearly all DVD players with 720p/1080i upconversion will only upscale in both formats through the HDMI jack... at least all the ones that I've played with. You could start looking through manuals to try and find a player that will, but I think it would be a fruitless search. Component video will probably max at 480p.
If you need to upscale to that high of a res, you'll need to look for an external video processor to handle the work for your player. I'd look at some by DV-DO or Faroudja... but I'll warn you... these things aren't cheap.
Before you head out to find something, let me ask you. What do you expect to gain from upconversion? What are your reasons for getting it? What kind of TV or projector do you have?
