The fact that the receiver

The fact that the receiver turns off right away is an indication of a short inside the stereo, in one of the many circuits.  This is a common practice now a days for manufacturers to incorparate this feature on these receivers, as it stops any smoking, most of the time, or any additional damage to the circuit boards.  The only way to stop this, is to trouble shoot the receiver, and most likely the fault lies in the pre-amp or the main power amp stage, fix the short and then the receiver will not go into the protect mode.  BUT these receivers have no user replaceable parts inside of them.  If you have not had any solid state repair experience, play it safe and take this receiver to an authorized repair depot to get an estimate.  Good Luck and let us know of the repair statis of this receiver.
