I have a1984 mitsubishi rear projection tv and the sound doesn't work any more was wondering if it could be te circit board inthe rear of the tv where the speaker switches are it has internal speakers but also connections for externial speakers not even externail ones work OR could it be the stereo amplifier? model #isVE-503 It's a video concepts model
WOW an oldie but goodie. My friend, if you invest anything into this TV set, you would be throwing cash into the wind!. No insult at all intended,but come on, a 23 year old TV set!? Ok it may be as great as the the Mets winning the world series way back when, LOL( lets see that happen again in my lifetime!?) but this set is so old, they do not even stock parts any longer unless you purchace generic parts. Ok, but to answer your questions, There are most likely, bad capacitors in the power supplies that supply the voltages to the audio processing, or the audio output circuit. Or worse case would be a defective audio output IC. Good Luck
