Help! I've just joined the 21st Century and bought a digital Panasonic TV. The TV works fine, but when I tried to connect it to my LG hard drive recorder I just get an analogue picture. I've retuned it, connected it up with a HDMI connector, read the book several times and I'm becoming frustrated. We have a good antenna on the roof so that shouldn't be a problem. Also, SBS through the video is in wide-screen when the TV is not. Everyone is obese.
If all fails I'll get someone to come and help on Monday, but if its only a simple thing I'm missing, I'd rather not pay an exorbitant call out fee.
I'm thinking that the overlooked part of this is the content. Does your LG recorder actually record HD content? Many recorders can only tune and record analog stations, meaning that's what you'll get when you play them back. What recorder do you have?
If the recorder can record HD content, you should make sure you're recording the right channel when you set your recording schedule. Recording channel 5 (for example) will record the analog station. Recording 5-1 will give you digital.
