Just Me

I have an older Sanyo TV.  Model # AVM252A. 25" screen.   It quite working last night and won't turn back on.   It would always make a click when it was turned on and the display would take about5 seconds.   Now, when I press the on button,  I receive a softer click and after 3 seconds I get a lower, muffled click and nothing else happens.

The TV is about 15 years old and has some options in it that I really like.  Do you think I should have it looked at or am I wasting my time and just go out and get a new one?

Thanks for your time,

Just me

These sets are famous for

These sets are famous for after several years the capacitors dry up in them in the stanby as well as ther main power supply. the firsdt indication is the softer click you described.  Bad capacitors for sure.  No I myself would not invest in any set that was 15 years old, even if parts are still available for it, it will be a money pit.  Buy a new one my friend. Good Luck.
