My Hitachi shuts itself off. Sometimes in 5 hours sometimes 5 minutes. I bought this TV from a small repair shop about a year ago (with an extended warranty) used. The guy has since disappeared. Big shock.. I am wondering if this is something that I could fix myself. If so were I can get the info.
It could be as simple as a bad connection in the horizontal sweep, sweep power supply, or the main power supply circuits. If you or a friend knows how to solder and work on printed circuit boards it would be worth having a look into. BUT there is alot of dangerous high voltage inside these puppies, so just be careful.
