I'm trying to repair a Philips 27PT6441/37 television chasis L04.1U AA. When you try to turn on the set nothing happens. On the front panel a green LED stays lit but nothing happens. I've heard this green light is for codes. Anyone have an ideas about this problem.
The green light is an indication that the standby power supply is good, but in your case the main power supply is notorious for the switching transistor as well as several other parts going bad. These switch mode power supply can sometimes be a real pain to work on. You should get a serive manual for this set and start from there. it is also a good Idea, when working on a SMPS to use whats called a variac. If you have no TV repair ecperiencem or smps knowledge, play it safe and call in a pro to assist you in this repair.
