mp3 wont stay on

my mp3 player is fully charged when i turn it on it say profiling (1) then all the way up to (50) then shuts off. we got this for my son for xmas and he's really upset that we can't get it to work so please somebody help us. it's a rca h100a so if someone knows please email me my son would be happy again.
