I have a convergence problem on my 51" magnovox TV. The red gun is off. The red bows toward the center in a wave pattern starting in the right. When I try to use the manual convergence, I can move it left and right, but not up and down. Any suggestions? Also, does anyone know where I can get a service manual for a Magnovox 51MP392H/17 TV. Everywhere I look doesn't have this particular set.
I could not find a service manual from anywhere as well. What you need to do is contact Philips and ask them if they have a manual or if they have any local distributors. You also may look up in the phone book under TV repairs and see if you can find any authorized Magnavox or Phililps repair centers. Your problem you have though my friend are the convergence amp. IC's need to be replaced. There will be some soldering involved. If you do not have the circuit knowledge, play it safe and call in a pro to assist you with this repair.
