I HAVE THIS OLDER REAR PROJECTION UNIT THAT DECIDED TO DIE ON ME THE OTHER DAY. I DONT KNOW WHAT IT DID BEFORE IT QUIT ,I WAS OUT OF THE ROOM . I HAVE SOUND AND TUNING GREEN LITE ETC NO PICTURE. YES THE GUNS LOOK CLOUDY BUT THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF LEAKAGE ON THE BOARDS BELOW. ANY IDEAS ALSO WHERE CAN I FIND A MANUAL I THINK ITS A 7566 PHILIPS MANUAL AND WHERE IS THE CHASSIS NUMBER THANX ALOT , GEO
I have a phillips 51" no picture but sound modle #51pp9303h/17 and the chassis # is dptv345 need help tv only 2 1/2 years old. Bought it new in 2005, hate to pitch it..................
Usually when these types of TV sets have no picture, it is because of a failure of the Painter IC. This is a surface mounted IC and if the repairman is really good, and has the surface mounted part tools to remove it and reinstall a new one, they are no big deal, only about 120 bucks or so. If you need to replace the entire board with the Painter chip on it, you are talking double that price just for the board. Now also you could have a vertical drive or vertical output circuit problem, or possibly a problem in the video circuit. You will need to acquire the service manual, and see where the vertical drive circuits are, and also do not forget to check the convergence IC's while your at it. This type of repair is not for the novice. If you have no TV repair experience, play it safe and call in a pro to assist you in this repair. Good Luck, and let us know if you get your TV set repaired.
